F flawless, no inclusion (very rare)

VVS1 very very small inclusion (difficult to see without magnifying glass)

VS1 very small inclusion (difficult to see without hand loup)

SI1 small inclusion (not difficult to see under 10x magnifying glass)

I1 inclusion easy to see without 10x magnifying glass


TRANSPARENCE :

The quality of the gemstone is not based on its transparence.

TP see-through (can see-through the gemstone)

TL translucent (difficult to see clearly through the gemstone)

O opaque (impossible to see-trough the gemstone)


WEIGHT :

The gemstone weight is measured in carat.

1 gram = 5 carats
0.2 gram = 1 carat
1 carat = 100 points

Exemple : 0.50 point = ½ carat ou 0.1 gramme


Don't confuse carat (gemmation) and karat (gold).

18 karat = 75% of gold
14 karat = 58% of gold
10 karat = 42% of gold


DIMENSIONS :

The gemstone is measured in millimeters (mm.).

1 inch = 25 mm. ou 2.5 cm.
